Why Choose Us?
We’ve known each other in the combined worlds of vocational rehabilitation (VR) and occupational therapy for over 20 years and in the past 3 years we worked closely together as Chair and Vice Chair in a special interest group of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists’. Our entrepreneurial working styles complement one another, and we really believe in occupational therapy as a cornerstone profession in health and work.
Mandy Kelly

I'm an Australian-trained occupational therapist with over 30 years of experience specializing in vocational rehabilitation and occupational health. My journey with Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) began in 1994 when I completed my first training course, and since then, I have conducted FCEs across the insurance, occupational health, social services, and legal sectors in both Australia and the UK.
Over the years, I have trained in multiple FCE systems across various countries, continually expanding my expertise including gaining qualifications in ergonomics, MODAPTS and Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation. My passion lies in resolving complex cases and leveraging OT assessments—including FCEs—to guide rehabilitation and optimise return-to-work and life outcomes for individuals and stakeholders.Jain and I have combined our experiences and insights to develop a unique FCE training programme and we are excited to share this with you and support you on your occupational science journey.
Jain Holmes

I’m an occupational therapist (OT) and researcher in VR. My doctoral/PhD thesis was training OTs in VR for survivors of a traumatic brain injury. I work part time for the University of Nottingham as a senior researcher on VR trials and for the past 10 years I have been specifically looking at how best to train therapists to deliver high quality, targeted VR in the NHS.
I have a passion for sharing my knowledge and supporting others to achieve their goals and this together with my experience in evaluating a person’s capacity for work has been brought together in the Work Health Academy. I wrote a book about VR and have taught hundreds of people how to do VR and FCEs for over 20 years and it still gives me a buzz when I can see the light bulb switch and someone suddenly ‘gets it’!We’d love to share our knowledge and experience with you.
